We thought
you might like some advice regarding this area
before your holiday . |
|
|
>>>Sun burn and
protection from sunburn |
|
|
 |
Before
you go on vacation please make sure you don't forget your
personal medication. During the summer the sun
can be unforgiving here so bring your sunscreen. The only danger here could be a sunburn that could
ruin
your holiday. Please don't forget your suncreams and get to
know the times of the day when the sun is strongest. Be sure to
protect children from the harmful rays of the sun .
Harmful times of day !!
The sun is
strongest between 11:00am to 3:30pm
You should not expose yourselves to direct sun between these times in
high season, without suncream protection - especially for children.
|
>>>Weather in this
area |
|
|
|
|
If you are unsure of the weather in the area you intend to stay, you
should always take something warm for the evenings just in
case............
Even in a predominently warm area, the evenings may be windy or the
temperature far lower than that during the day and we wouldn't want you
to catch a chill. You should be sure to bring with you any
medication you may need.

|
>>>Security
and health services |
|
|
|
|
We
do have local doctors and pharmacies in Akyaka and major
hospitals
in Marmaris and Muğla about 25 minutes in either
direction. However, check that your holiday insurance covers
you for medical expenses. It is wise to check how to contact
your insurers and the services in an emergency.
There are two village cilinicc
to be found in Gökova bay with emergency facilities. You can find some
telephone number of places
for hospitals,
clinics
and other emergency services at the end of this page.
There
are security officers who patrol the the village 24 hours a
day, usually in pairs [Jandarma] and theft or any
other problems in Akyaka are rare events.

|
>>>Bank Problem
!!! |
|
|
|
|
Despite our attempts, we have been unable to secure the services of a
bank or even an ATM machine in Akyaka, which we feel is the only
down-side to staying here, as we too, have to go to Mugla or Marmaris to
exchange money. Visitors will find that all of the shops, hotels etc
have taken this on board and provide a currency exchange of their own.
We try to make it that you will not need to visit a bank at all during
your holiday with us.
|
|
>>>Arrival !! |
|
|
|
|
From
Europe it is usual to arrive at Dalaman Airport - which is a
45 minute drive from Akyaka. We will collect you from the
airport
in our air conditioned minibus and return you there
after your holiday.
From
Akyaka town there is a dolmus service
to Muğla every half an
hour. It takes just half an hour to arrive to Muğla or
Marmaris, but unfortunately, there
are only two services to
Marmaris daily in
the summer season - and in
winter
there is no minibus to Marmaris from Akyaka.
There are
some Rent-A-Car offices for
car rental. However ,
there are a lots of boat tour
agents and boat for rent to take the "Blue
Trip".
